SPONSORING A SCHOOL PROJECT

While we were distributing some uniforms for the poor students at Sadiqi Sahib High School in Charikar in August, 2002, a school girl( 9 years old ) among hundreds ,stood up and said “UNCLE YOU SEE THAT OUR SCHOOL CLASSROOMS, DO NOT HAVE DOORS , DO NOT HAVE WINDOWS, CAN YOU FIX OUR SCHOOLS ?” Although her words seemed so simple, they were so resonating and potent, they penetrated down into the very depths of our hearts. Suddenly we found ourselves unable to respond negatively. It was her wish that seeded into our hearts the idea of establishing EHFAA to rebuild the destroyed schools in Afghanistan.

Since that dramatic moment, we got involved in this humanitarian project, helping those poor students in Afghanistan. The rewards have been astronomical and a million words aren’t enough to explain our feelings. We enjoy every moment of our lives now. This is why we created this association and invite our Afghan and American friends to participate and share the rewards and positive vibes. I hope you don’t consider this a sales pitch, because we are not in the business of selling anything. All we are expressing is our experience and the feelings as the result of our involvement. We sincerely invite you to participate and become a sponsor so you too can witness it for yourself. Do not lose this opportunity and join EHFAA now.

  • The benefits are manifold.
  • Poor Afghan students achieve education.
  • Fulfill your humanitarian obligation.
  • Participate in reconstruction of Afghanistan.
  • It is time to pay back to our motherland Afghanistan.
  • Provide jobs for some people in Afghanistan.
  • Continue association with people in the city of your birth in Afghanistan.
  • Get a tax write off for your contribution.

The Educational Help For Afghanistan Association (EHFAA) has been established to rebuild and renovate those educational institutions and schools which have been destroyed all over Afghanistan as the result of decades of internal and external wars.

The prime objective of EHFAA is to increase the school building activities and to assist the Afghan students in Afghanistan to achieve their education goals. The Afghan students in Afghanistan have been deprived of education for decades.
In the past 4 years, we are grateful for the contribution and participation of more than 100 EHFAA members, who enabled EHFAA to build 4 schools in various provinces of Afghanistan.

One of the schools, Qalay Zaman Khan Girls Secondary High School in Kabul was built by the request and sponsorship of Afghan Women Association of Southern California. It was the joint effort and cooperation of both EHFAA and AWASC in all areas of the project which resulted in a successful completion of the school. This encourages EHFAA to introduce the theme of sponsoring a school building project in Afghanistan, for those associations and individuals who are interested to carry the torch of school building project in their names. The following statements outline the procedure and guidelines for being a sponsor:

  1. EHFAA has no preference in selection for any project. The sponsor
can designate the location, the province and the city in Afghanistan where he/she wants to rebuild a school/college.
  2. The sponsor can be one individual or a group of individuals or an organization, which can contact the EHFAA President and submit a written request for sponsoring a school project in the venue of their choice in Afghanistan.
  3. The Sponsor is to make a monetary donation commitment (any amount he and or she can afford) to initiate the project, and then it becomes EHFAA’s obligation to raise the rest of the project cost via membership fees, fundraisings and other contributions.
  4. It is EHFAA policy to have a minimum of 50% of the total project cost
available in the account in Bank Melli in Kabul before the ground breaking
    of the project.
  5. EHFAA, using its experience, will undertake the logistics and responsibilities
from the inception of the project until its completion. EHFAA will be in close
contact, communication and coordination with the sponsor updating the progress
    regularly.
  6. The sponsor always can communicate directly with EHFAA Project manger
in Kabul to receive first hand information about the project. Any request for
change in the design, construction, decoration and etc, will be coordinated with
the president of EHFAA here in the US.
  7. The sponsor is invited and welcome to any and all EHFAA meetings that are
conducted here in Los Angeles on regular schedule to be announced.
  8. The sponsors, if desired, along with some of EHFAA members can travel to
Afghanistan during the ground breaking as well as during the inauguration
ceremony of the completed project. The traveling party will pay all expenses.
  9. A copy of the project report, inclusive of costs, diagram, pictures, video,
Ministry of Education Permit, and meetings minutes will be given to the
    Sponsor for his record.
